What we do

Purpose in Practice

Purpose in Practice is the program for leaders looking to transform their organisation into a purpose-driven workspace.

Based on Wouter Hart’s book Lost in Control and many years of putting the ideas into practice in different organisations, Purpose at Work is proud and excited to bring these ideas to Australia for the first time. We made a short video that explains the core concepts.

The Purpose in Practice tools and resources allow you to set your own pace and focus on what you need - not just follow a set program. They cover three key areas:

1.     Fundamentals:  Core concepts and ideas on how to put purpose into practice

2.    Practice with purpose: Different methods to bring purpose to life in your workplace

3.    Purpose and performance: How to know you’re doing it right and keep success going.

Program Outline

The Purpose in Practice program is a one-stop shop for leaders from any sector who are looking to put their purpose to work every day.

We offer several formats, from a quick introduction to a 2-hour highlights reel workshop to a full-day deep dive with exercises, discussions and more. We’ve got the building blocks, you decide.

To support all that purposeful effort, we’ve created a 60-page workbook full of practical exercises and further reading.

These worksheets enable organisations to keep practicing with their purpose after the workshop in ways that work best for them. There are over 40 individual worksheets, each with their own ideas, exercises, challenges and questions. They are specifically designed as a Do-It-Yourself toolkit, so you don’t need any help, permission or support. You’re in charge of how far you want to take your purpose!

  3. Performance cards, that show you alternatives to find out what matters most to the people you work with and how to measure it in useful ways.
