Environmental and social sustainability

How much thought has your organisation given to environmental and social sustainability?

Mandatory corporate reporting on sustainability risks and strategies is the new global trend in corporate governance.

Although in Australia the 2024 Climate Related Financial Disclosures legislation does not yet apply to charities, many NFP boards see the development of sustainability standards as an integral part of risk management, meeting consumer expectations and cost containment.  Organisations (such as Australian Disability Enterprises) supplying to large corporates with well-established sustainability systems are increasingly required to have a sustainability strategy.

Newsflash

In early 2024, the Australian Government will be launching a new round of grants for small and medium enterprises to improve energy efficiency practices and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. State governments have complementary schemes, covering such things as electric vehicles, refrigeration and heating upgrades, and renewable energy. Ask us if you need assistance or more information.
